Everything on Rolltop Sound is our honest take — reviews, guides, and notes from the small room where we record. We write from experience and we stand behind our opinions, but an opinion is not a guarantee. Gear that suits our hands and our room may not suit yours, and a guide that works for surf instrumentals may miss the mark for what you’re building. Treat what you read as a starting point for your own testing, not a promise of results.

What you may and may not do

Quote us freely. Short excerpts with a link back are welcome, and we’re glad when something we wrote helps you explain a point. What we ask you not to do is republish whole pieces or substantial portions of them, scrape the site to feed a content farm or model, or pass our words off as your own. If you’d like to use more than a brief quote, get in touch through the contact page and tell us what you have in mind — we’re reasonable people.

Comments

Comments are open to anyone who wants to talk tone, technique, or records. Keep it civil and keep it on topic. Disagreement is fine — we’ve changed our minds from a good comment more than once. What we won’t keep are personal attacks, spam, or posts that copy someone else’s writing without credit. We read the comments and we moderate them, and we may remove anything that breaks these rules.

Liability

We put care into every piece, but we can’t accept responsibility for decisions you make based on it — purchases, setups, recordings, or anything else. The site is provided as-is, and you use it at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the content. If something here is wrong, tell us through the contact page and we’ll look at it.
