Low Wattage

A journal of amplifiers, pedals & small-room recording

Privacy, Plainly

What we collect

When you visit Rolltop Sound, our server keeps ordinary logs — the kind any web server writes: your IP address, the page you asked for, the browser you used, the time. They exist so we can tell when something is broken. We don’t dig through them to build a picture of you. If you leave a comment, the name you type and the email address you give stay with the comment. We ask for the email so we can reach you about the comment, nothing more. If the site runs any analytics at all, it’s simple traffic counting — which pages get read — not a profile of who read them. We’re a small team, and we don’t have the appetite or the machinery for anything more.

What we don’t collect

No accounts, no passwords, no payment details. Nothing that follows you across other sites. If we ever add a mailing list, you’ll only be on it because you asked.

Cookies

A cookie may be set to remember small preferences, or to keep comment forms working. We don’t set cookies to track you around the web. Clear your browser’s cookies any time — the site will still work.

Who it’s never sold to

Nobody. Not advertisers, not data brokers, not anyone. We don’t sell it, rent it or trade it, and we don’t hand it to a third party unless the law plainly requires us to. Recording music in a small room teaches you to keep the signal clean; we treat your information the same way.

Asking us to remove something

You can ask us to delete a comment you left, or anything else of yours we hold. Write to us through the contact page on this site — that’s the door to knock on. Tell us what you’d like removed and enough detail to find it, and we’ll take care of it. No drawn-out process, no hoops.
